Manaslu 2008, 12 th peak of Vasilii Pivtcov

Vasily Pivtsova’s message from September, 28th, 2008: «Yesterday have returned to base camp after first acclimatisation. On a route has dropped out a lot of snow, in 1 camp under snow remains more than 60 tents of different expeditions.
Sherpas and climbers search and dig out the tents. We have found left deposit and have reached to 2 camps. Usually 2 camp is put at height by of 6400 m., but we have found a convenient and safe place for 2 camps at height of 6200 m. Today we have a rest in base camp.
In general we will have a rest in base camp – 3 days and then we leave on storm.
